Joe Devance out for at least a month due to foot fracture

Barangay Ginebra is set to miss another key player with Joe Devance expected to be sidelined for at least a month due to a stress fracture in his left foot.

Devance has been dealing with the injury since last conference but still played for the injury-riddled Gin Kings in the ongoing Governors’ Cup.

The veteran guard/forward joined big men Greg Slaughter, Japeth Aguilar, Jervy Cruz and guard Sol Mercado in the injury list for Ginebra.

The Gin Kings, however, have had much success despite fielding in a depleted roster with Justin Brownlee leading the way.

Hurting and all, the 36-year-old Devance remained as a vital piece to Ginebra’s campaign this conference, averaging 13 points and 5.7 assists in three appearances.

Ginebra shoots for solo first place against NLEX on Friday at Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Kings are currently tied with the Magnolia Hotshots atop the standings with a 5-1 card.
