Pocari Sweat-Air Force stormed to its third straight win after a 25-23, 25-22, 25-16 rout of Adamson Wednesday night in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at FilOil Flying V Center.
Stars Myla Pablo and Iari Yongco joined forces as the Lady Warriors unleashed their full might against the hapless Lady Falcons.
Pocari is now on top of the standings with a 3-1 card, while Adamson suffered its second consecutive defeat.
But Pocari coach Jasper Jimenez wasn’t happy over the way his wards played the first two sets.
“That’s what we are trying to avoid, to give away a set when we can win it with a [comfortable] margin,” said Jimenez in Filipino. “We are trying to remedy that in the coming games.”
That may be an urgent need. Pocari faces powerhouse Creamline next.
Creamline drubbed Tacloban, 25-15, 25-21, 25-15, later in the evening to bounce back from a shock defeat to Petro Gazz in its tournament opener.
Alyssa Valdez unloaded 20 points for the Cool Smashers, who ignited a 9-0 finishing kick to secure their first win in two games. The Fighting Warays fells to 2-2.
