Perlas still unscathed

/ 04:58 AM October 08, 2018

BanKo-Perlas cashed in on Ateneo-Motolite’s meltdown late in the second set to cruise to a 27-25, 25-19, 25-11 victory that extended its win run to four in the Premier Volleyball League Season 2 Open Conference on Sunday at the Filoil Flying V Centre.

In a duel of two unbeaten teams that had barely taken hours of rest before facing off, the Perlas Spikers wore down the Lady Eagles with their power game behind Nicole Tiamzon and Kat Bersola to remain on top of the eight-team field at 4-0.
Later, Alyssa Valdez blasted in 12 kills and came through with three kill blocks as Creamline crushed Iriga-Navy, 25-13, 25-12, 25-9 victory to join Ateneo in third and fourth places at 2-1.

Iriga-Navy fell to 0-5.

Dzi Gervacio also starred against her former team, blasting away backrow attacks to provide solid backup with 13 kills for a 14-hit output. Bersola finished with 11 points.

The twin weekend victories came three days after the Perlas Spikers took the bronze in the Vinh Long Cup in Vietnam.
