Go, Olaivar, Torres lead qualifying rounds in 22nd Sletba Open

Nikko Go of SCTBA-Prima is showing the way in the Open Master division as the qualifying rounds of the 22nd Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association (Sletba) Open Championships go on at the Sta. Lucia Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.

Results as of Monday night showed Go with a total of 1309 pinfalls in six games, followed by national player Nicco Olaivar of PBA with 1304 and Papio de Dios of Sletba with 1255.

Danny Torres of Sletba paces the Classified Master field with 1322, trailed by Mark Legurpa of PTBA with 1302 and John Paul Go of SCTBA-Prima with 1282.

Torres also leads in the Seniors category with 1400, with Jun de Guzman of Sletba-GMTBC posting 1330 and Dads Calonge of PBA with 1314.

Leading in the other categories are:

Ladies — Lovella Catalan of PTBDA, 1209; Emem Atienza of Sletba, 1200; and Christine Camota of Sletba, 1187.

Youth — Norel Nuevo of PBA-Nobeland, 1259; Anton Marquez of PBA, 1235; and Bill Yambao of TBAM-Prima, 1224.

15 & Under — Kassie Yap of Sletba, 1107; Paulene Sta. Ana of TBAM-Prima, 1104; and Charlize Calamba of Sletba, 867.

The annual event, sanctioned by the Philippine Bowling Federation, rolled off last Saturday. Qualifying rounds are ongoing until Friday, Oct. 12. Cash prizes and trophies await the winners.
