Asian Para Games: Gawilan clinches second silver medal for PH

Swimmer Ernie Gawilan continued to reap medals for the Philippines in the 2018 Asian Para Games in Indonesia.

Gawilan on Tuesday night added a silver medal to his growing collection after clocking 1:6.74 seconds in the men’s 100M freestyle S7 event in para swimming.

The 27-year-old Gawilan, who hails from Paquibato, Davao City, won the historic gold medal for the Philippines on Sunday after ruling the men’s 200m individual medley SM7 event. He also won a silver medal in the men’s 50m freestyle S7.

Wei Soong Toh of Singapore beat Gawilan again for the gold while Donggu Lee of Korea nabbed the bronze.

Meanwhile, Gary Bejino got another third-place finish, this time in the men’s 100M freestyle S6, for his second bronze medal won his second bronze of the competition.
