Asian Para Games: PH chess team captures 6 medals with 3 golds

The Philippines got a major boost in its Asian Para Games bid on thanks to the efforts of its triumphant chess team on Wednesday.

Sander Severino led the Filipinos medal haul by winning the gold medal in the men’s individual standard P1.

Another gold came after the squad composed of Redor Menandro Arman Sebaste and Israel Peligro topped the men’s team standard VI – B2/B3 event.

Severino, Jasper Rom and Henry Roger Lopez also nabbed the gold medal in the men’s team standard P1.

Menandro also picked up a silver medal in the men’s individual standard VI while Subastre nabbed a bronze in the men’s indivdual standard VI – B2/B3.

Rom won a bronze medal as well in the men’s individual standard P1.

Meanwhile, bowlers Kim Ian Chi and Samuel Matias won the silver in the mixed Doubles TPB10+TPB10 event three days after Chi won the gold in men’s singles TPB10.
