Hurting Patrombon bows out

/ 06:01 PM January 20, 2012

Hampered by a swollen right knee, Jeson Patrombon bowed to Hungary’s Marton Fucsovics, 3-6,2-6, Thursday in the singles quarterfinals of the Israel Futures F2 in Eilat.

Patrombon, who survived three three-setters in the event starting in the qualifying stage, complained about the pain after his 6-2, 3-6, 6-1 win over Dutchman Antal Van der Duim Wednesday.

“I was worried because for Jeson to be able to execute his game, he needs his legs and foot speed to counter the power and strength of his bigger and taller opponents,” said coach Manny Tecson.
