Ren Cremen in action
Philippine Youth member Ren Cremen on Sunday bagged the Open Masters title of the 22nd Sletba (Sta. Lucia East Tenpin Bowling Association) Open Championships at the Sta. Lucia Mall Bowling Center in Cainta, Rizal.
Cremen edged fellow TBAM-Prima player Danielle Evangelista, 215-212, in the final game of the stepladder finals to clinch the crown. Evangelista earlier beat Nikko Go of SCTBA-Prima and Merwin Tan of TBAM-Prima in the first match, then Patrick Nuqui of PBA-Nobleland in the second match to earn the right to face Cremen who enjoyed a twice-to-beat advantage.
Cremen started the 10-game elimination round with a 237, and maintained the pace to finish with a total of 2323 pitfalls, or an average of 232.
Earlier in the day, Lovella Catalan of PTBDA posted an eight-game total of 1651 to rule the Ladies’ Division. She was followed by May Tumbagahon of Sletba with 1621, then by May Malvar of TBAM-Prima (1568); Alice Cabazor of MBA (1561), and Myra Umali of Sletba (1549).

Nancy Hernandez of TBAM-Prima, meanwhile, rolled 1053 pinfalls in six games to capture the 15 & Under category, followed by Abraham Saddoy of DATBI (1039), Basti Singui of Sletba (1028), Grace Hernandez of TBAM-Prima (1023) and Michael Lacerna of Sletba (1000).
