Hoping to build on its strong finish to the first round, La Salle battles University of the East, even as Adamson hopes to get back on track on Wednesday in UAAP Season 81 basketball tournament at Mall of Asia Arena.
The Archers seek back-to-back wins against the University of the East Warriors at 2 p.m., before the Falcons clash with the National U Bulldogs.
La Salle hopes to ride the wave of momentum of its 79-78 win over Adamson last Saturday that allowed the Archers to emotionally and mentally recover from a crushing loss to Ateneo the week before.
La Salle coach Louie Gonzales believes his team has finally figured out how to play as one cohesive unit, after sputtering in critical moments in the first round.
“We should be competing by now,” said Gonzales, whose team can tie Far Eastern U at third spot with a victory. “I’m happy that our scoring is back and the players are producing because that was the issue against Ateneo.”
The Archers will be taking on a UE team desperate to remain in the hunt for the Final Four berth, after losing six of its first seven games of the season.
