Player of the Week: Assist leader Banchero has best scoring game for Aces

Not only does Chris Banchero creates scoring opportunities for his teammates, he also gets his points among other things he does so well for Alaska.

Banchero is leading the league with 9.3 assists per game this conference and his knack to get his teammates involved was on full display against Columbian last Wednesday.

The Fil-Italian guard, who earned the Cignal-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week honor (Oct. 15-21),  dished out 11 assists on top of 10 points and seven rebounds to help the Aces beat the Dyip, 104-94.

The 29-year-old Banchero then, showed his offensive prowess when he set a career-high with 28 points on 12-of-16 shooting from the field in a crucial 116-109 win over Blackwater on Sunday.

Behind Banchero’s efforts and prolific import Mike Harris, the Aces found themselves among the top teams in the league with a 7-2 record.

He edged Meralco’s Cliff Hodge and Chris Newsome and San Miguel Beer’s Chris Ross and Christian Standhardinger for the weekly citation.
