PBA: Phoenix gains solo fourth after comeback win over Rain or Shine

Phoenix gained inside track for the last top four slot after rallying past Rain or Shine, 103-97, in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup at Cuneta Astrodome.

Calvin Abueva scored 18 points, including the game-clinching free throw with 14 seconds left as the Fuel Masters completed their comeback from 10 points down at the start of the final frame.

Eugene Phelps also posted a double-double with 18 points and 20 rebounds for Phoenix, which claimed solo fourth with a 7-3 record, creating a half-game lead over Blackwater (6-3) in the standings.

RJ Jazul hit a 3-pointer to give the Fuel Masters the lead for good, 91-90, with 4:48 remaining, capping a 17-6 run.

Chris Tiu tallied a game-high 24 points for the Elasto Painters, who dropped to 2-7.

Import Terrence Watson had another subpar outing, finishing with only four points and seven rebounds before fouling out with still 2:19 left in the game.
