San Miguel Beer notched its third straight win after holding off NorthPort, 114-107, in the 2018 PBA Governors’ Cup Wednesday night at Cuneta Astrodome.

Christian Standhardinger delivered big numbers anew, coming away with 21 points and 22 rebounds for the Beermen, who inched closer to securing a place in the quarterfinals.

Standhardinger made a crucial basket to keep the Batang Pier at bay before hitting a pair of freebies with 13 ticks remaining to put the game away.

FEATURED STORIES

Kevin Murphy topscored with 27 points while key locals Alex Cabagnot, Marcio Lassiter and Chris Ross also made significant contributions for the Beermen, who improved to 5-4 and climbed to sixth place in the standings.

Lassiter collected 16 points, six rebounds and five assists, Cabagnot came off the bench and scored 17 while Ross added 14 points.

Sean Anthony and Stanley Pringle combined for 45 points to pace NorthPort, who is already out of contention with a 2-8 mark.
