San Beda heads to 13th straight NCAA finals, ousts Perpetual
Top seed San Beda is headed to its 13th straight championship series after cruising past no.4- Perpetual Help, 83-72, in the Final Four of the NCAA Season 94 men’s basketball tournament Friday at Filoil Flying V Center.
The Red Lions will look to get their third straight title and 22nd overall,as they take on Lyceum in the championship rematch from a year ago.
Article continues after this advertisementAC Soberano fired off the defending champions into a 59-48 lead after two straight threes with less than a minute into the fourth and that was enough foundation for the Red Lions to hold on to the victory.
Red Lions head coach Boyet Fernandez said the work’s not done for them and that they have to fulfill the Bedan community’s expectation of them to win another title.
“Of course our motivation is to get the three-peat and this will be a good championship series because we’re playing Lyceum and that team beat us twice last year,” said Fernndez.

Robert Bolick showed his class for the Red Lions with 23 points, four rebounds, and six assists while Javee Mocon and Donald Tankoua did the dirty work.
Mocon finished with a 14-point, 15-rebound double-double while Tankoua had 13 points and 18 boards.
Jelo Razon and Rey Peralta ahd 16 points apiece for the Altas while MVP front runner Prince Eze finished with 13 points and 13 rebounds in his final game for Perpetual.
