The upcoming NCAA Season 94 Finals match up between San Beda and Lyceum is nothing short of interesting.
San Beda has always been the NCAA’s perennial power having won 21 titles since 1924, while Lyceum, which only became a member in 2011, is the new kid that continues to pull off surprises.
Star point guard Robert Bolick expects fireworks to once again go off in the title series.
“This will be a good matchup because we are the teams the people actually expected to meet in the finals,” said Bolick in Filipino after the Red Lions beat University of Perpetual Help, 83-72, to return to the finals Friday.
Bolick and the Red Lions emerged victorious in Season 93 against the Pirates, who turned heads by sweeping the elimination round with 18 games, in a series that San Beda wrapped up in two games.
No matter what the result, the graduating Bolick couldn’t help but wax sentimental as his collegiate career nears it close.
“This is what we’ve been waiting for. Of course, I’m happy but at the same time sad because my career will be over in two or three games,” said Bolick who had 23 points, four rebounds, and six assists in the semifinals.
“Of course I’ll be happy if we win but if we won’t win that that’d be devastating in my final year.”
