Motolite thwarts Pocari gals

Motolite-Ateneo displayed enough spunk to rout title favorite Pocari Sweat, 27-25, 25-21, 25-21, Saturday night in the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Imus Sports Complex.

Bea De Leon scored 12 points and provided the leadership for the Lady Eagles, who bounced back from a defeat at the hands of the Creamline Cool Smashers last Wednesday.

It was Motolite-Ateneo’s sixth win in eight games, tying resting BanKo Perlas at second place behind Creamline.

May Matulid had 11 points to lead Iriga-Navy over Akari-Adamson, 25-18, 26-24, 25-23, for only its second win in an earlier game.

With the victory, Iriga kept the Lady Falcons winless in the tournament.
