‘GOAT’ Demetrious Johnson signs with ONE Championship

Demetrious Johnson, one of the most accomplished MMA fighters ever, has signed with ONE Championship.

ONE announced the addition of Johnson on Sunday with ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong revealed the arrival of the inaugural and former UFC flyweight champion on his Instagram account.

“Please join me in welcoming the #1 pound-for-pound king, Demetrious Johnson, to ONE Championship,” Sityodtong wrote.

“He is the most dominant mixed martial arts world champion in history, and holds the record for the most number of world title defenses in UFC. His extraordinary achievements speak for themselves, but I am most impressed by his character, his values, and his life story. @mightymouse125 #GOAT

The 32-year-old Johnson defended the UFC flyweight belt 11 times before yielding it in a close loss to Henry Cejudo two months ago.

Johnson’s move to ONE came just less than a couple weeks after another former UFC champion in Eddie Alvarez joined the Singapore-based martial arts promotion.
