Petalcorin vs Nicaraguan for IBF light fly crown

Filipino Randy Petalcorin will take a crack at the vacant International Boxing Federation light flyweight crown against Nicaraguan Felix Alvarado Monday night at Midas Hotel in Pasay. Petalcorin tipped the scales at 108 pounds, while Alvarado checked in at 107 lb during Sunday’s weigh in. Petalcorin is confident he can give the Philippines another world title. “I’m confident because this is my natural fighting weight,” said Petalcorin. —MARC ANTHONY REYES
