June Mar Fajardo may have finally made his debut for San Miguel this conference last week but it was still Christian Standhardinger who led the Beermen’s march to the 2018 Governors’ Cup playoffs.
As if Standhardinger isn’t doing enough, he even managed to up the ante in the Beermen’s last two wins over NorthPort and Rain or Shine.
The Fil-German big man averaged import-like numbers of 21.5 points and 20 rebounds to help San Miguel clinch a quarterfinals spot after a rocky start.
Standhardinger, who earned his second Cignal-PBA Press Corps Player of the Week award this conference, posted 21 points and 22 rebounds in the Beermen’s 114-107 victory over the Batang Pier on Wednesday in Antipolo.
He followed it up with 22 points, 18 rebounds and four assists in a 109-97 win over the Elasto Painters in Biñan, Laguna on Sunday.
The Beermen are currently in sixth place with a 6-4 record. They close out their elimination round schedule against the Meralco Bolts on Saturday at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
