Cebuano giants June Mar Fajardo and Greg Slaughter are expected to rejoin Gilas Pilipinas when head coach Yeng Guiao names his latest national team pool during a meeting with the PBA Board of Governors next Tuesday.

The Philippines begins the next window of the Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers with a pair of home games at Mall of Asia Arena against Kazakhstan on November 30 and Iran on December 3.

“Of course, the PBA governors want to know who will be the players in the pool for these players to be notified. The board also wants to know the program and the practices but for sure, the PBA will lend any of the players called,” said PBA commissioner Willie Marcial in a story posted on the league’s website.

The special meeting will be led by Ricky Vargas, who was renewed for another year as PBA board chairman.

Fajardo and Slaughter missed the Philippines’ campaign in the previous window due to injuries.

Gilas settled for a split in its past two games in the qualifiers.

The Filipinos fell to the Iranians, 81-73, in Tehran on September 13 before bouncing back with a 92-81 win over the Qataris four days later in a closed-door game at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
