#KickStalker: Jordan XXXIII hits Philippine shores

It’s been nearly two decades since Michael Jordan played in the NBA, but his sneaker legacy has remained strong.

In fact, Jordan Brand’s 33rd shoe is about to hit the Philippine market during the long holiday break.

The Air Jordan XXXIII, set to hit the Philippine shelves on Nov. 2, got rid of laces and in its place is the FastFit technology that basically allows the wearer to just pull an elastic string that will eventually lockdown the shoe on the foot.

“Flight has always been part of our DNA,” said Jordan Brand VP of Design David Creech.

“Our team considered the utility-led design of space flight suits and used that as inspiration in crafting the sneaker.”

The shoe’s outsole will also feature the latest version of Jordan Brand’s Flight Speed technology, which is made of the same carbon fiber plate in the Nike Zoom Vaporfly 4%, and the Nike Zoom Air.

Just like all Jordans since the XXX, the XXXIII also took design cues from previous models Jordan himself wore.

The Nike Air branding on the heel is reminiscent of the III, IV, V, and VI models while the large tongue is a nod to the III that Tinker Hatfield designed.

The Future of Flight Colorway will be the first to be release in the Philippine market.
