Howard becomes Magic’s all-time top scorer

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana – Dwight Howard became Orlando’s all-time leading scorer on Tuesday, delivering 14 points in the Magic’s 102-83 NBA victory over the Indiana Pacers.

Howard also had nine rebounds in his 25 minutes on court as the Magic recovered from Monday’s embarrassing loss to the Boston Celtics in which they set a club low for points and field goal percentage.

Howard was limited by foul trouble, but Ryan Anderson stepped up to score a game-high 24 points with eight rebounds for Orlando, who have won seven of their last nine games.

Howard now has 10,657 points, while Nick Anderson dropped to second on the club’s all-time list with 10,650.

Howard, who overtook Anderson with a big dunk in the third quarter, said he was pleased to get the record, but even happier that his team came back to win convincingly after the big loss to Boston.

“We just stayed together,” he said. “We got a good win against a good team. Indiana hadn’t lost at home and had been playing great basketball all year.

“So it feels good to get a good win and I’m proud of my team.”
