/ 05:03 AM November 12, 2018

Philippine Tennis Association president Antonio Cablitas hopes to finally achieve peace within Philta as he presented his programs for the group that has been rocked by leadership issues the past two years.

“I have all documents with me, I know where I stand and I would like to face them personally,” Cablitas told the Inquirer, referring to officials opposed to his leadership.

“But I don’t want to be distracted from tennis development,” added Cablitas, also the Presidential Adviser on Investments. “I have a full program for Philippine tennis that I have been putting in place.”

On Sunday, he announced that Philta is hosting the Asian Tennis Federation meeting on Nov. 30 to Dec. 2 involving every stakeholder of the sport, including those who oppose him.

Cablitas said he will invite even International Tennis Federation (ITF) chief David Haggerty, who recently asked the Philippine Olympic Committee to come up with a resolution on the Philta issue.

Philta is also sending top Filipinos to China and Korea for a one-month training, jumpstarting the country’s preparation for the 2019 Manila Southeast Asian Games.

Included in the program are Khim Iglupas, Marian Jade Capadocia, Jeson Patrombon.

The tennis association will also continue supporting AJ Lim’s ongoing training in the United States.
