PetroGazz dispatched Adamson, 25-21, 25-9, 25-15, on Sunday night to punch the last ticket to the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League Open Conference at Filoil Flying V Centre in San Juan.
At 8-5, PetroGazz is already beyond reach by Pocari Sweat and Tacloban even if they win their remaining matches.
Pocari earlier thumped Iriga-Navy, 25-23, 25-20, 25-20.
Jeannette Panada led the Lady Warriors with seven points including four blocks that threw off the Lady Oragons’ offense.
But at 6-7 with just one match left, Pocari is already out of the running for the next round even if it wins over Adamson on Wednesday.
The victory gave the Angels an outright ticket to the Final Four, joining Motolite-Ateneo, Creamline and BanKo Perlas.
PetroGazz recovered from 16-10 down in the fourth set to overcome league leader Motolite-Ateneo, 19-25, 25-21, 25-21, 25-23, late Saturday and notch one of two wins needed to make the Final Four.
