Superstar LeBron James ‘just another member of group chat’ for Romeo Travis
LeBron James and Romeo Travis go a long way back as childhood friends and high school teammates at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron, Ohio.
And up to this day, the two continue to share a tight-knit bond despite how their basketball careers have taken them to thousand of miles apart with James starring for the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA and Travis leading the Magnolia Hotshots to the PBA Governors’ Cup Finals.

James has been keeping tabs of Travis’ play and just recently, the three-time NBA champion congratulated Travis for his 50-point performance in the series-clinching Game 4 on Friday.

Interestingly, James delivered his own 50-point outing when he scored 51 points in a Lakers’ rout of the Miami Heat two days later.

Travis, though, doesn’t think his buddy’s offensive outburst had anything to so with him.

“I would like to think that I had something to do with it but probably not,” said Travis on Tuesday during the PBA Finals press conference as posted on SPIN.ph. “It’s probably Miami’s bad defense have a lot to do with it.”
“I talked to him afterwards and we joked about it. He is in the NBA. I’m in the PBA. They are not the same. But we are just happy for each other. A little friendly competition is good. Nothing wrong with a little friendly competition, trash talk. He sent me a message, talked a little trash. It is what it is.”

James has already cemented himself as one of the greatest ever in the sport and he may even be as great of a friend as he is as a basketball player.
“He is just my friend. You guys know him as LeBron James, superstar. He is just one of my friends. He is just another member of the group chat,” Travis said.
“He is like, when we are in a group chat, we are all equal. It is what it is. He is just a friend. I don’t know any way other way to put it, he’s as supportive as any other friend who supports you.”
