Also in the delegation are Carlo Peña, Dean Rozas, Marvin Mariano, Adrian Guggenheim, Marc Lim, Apryl Eppinger, Mara Rafael, and Kaila Napolis.

The contest is under the Ju-Jitsu International Federation which works directly with the Olympic committees of each country.

This marks the first time a Filipino delegation is seeing action in the Worlds.

Ochoa, who has recently set up an advocacy campaign to save children from sexual volence, owns three world championships that all came in the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation, which is club-based.

The 28-year-old martial artist takes on Morgane Houx of France this Saturday for the right to face Suwanan Boonsorn of Thailand in the quarterfinals of women’s seniors ~49 kg. division.

Last month, Ochoa launched the “Fight to Protect” campaign to bolster her advocacy.
