MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Amusements and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) will give P10 million to the Philippine Football Federation, which will use the funds to revive the “Kasibulan” grassroots development program in the country this year.
PFF president Mariano “Nonong” Araneta said the program will be launched in Calamba, Laguna, on Feb. 11, coinciding with the visit of Fifa vice president Prince Ali Bin Hussein of Jordan, who has also promised support by providing equipment.
“It’s a major boost to our efforts to promote the sport, and we are grateful for the support of Pagcor,” said Araneta, who sought the support of Pagcor chair Cristino Naguiat last year.
Araneta sees at least 15,000 players aged 6 to 12 years old benefiting from the program that will be headed by current University of the Philippines coach and former national player Anto Gonzales.
