In an attempt to arrest its 26-year finals drought in the UAAP men’s basketball, Adamson University is leaving no stones unturned.
The University announced on Monday the suspension of all classes in Senior High School and college level as well as office work starting from 12 noon on Wednesday for the Falcons’ do-or-die semifinals matchup against the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons.
In an advisory, University President Fr. Marcelo V. Manimtim urged the whole Adamson community to support its team.
“We are appealing to the entire AdU Community to support our team. Please wear navy blue Adamson U shirts,” Manimtim said.
Adamson ended the elimination round as the second-seeded team and barged into the final four with a twice-to-beat advantage.
However, the Fighting Maroons, behind the heroics of Bright Akhuetie, frustrated the Soaring Falcons in a dramatic 73-71 game one decision on Saturday that forced a winner-take-all match.
Adamson will try to clinch a ticket to the finals for the first time since 1992 on Wednesday 3:30 p.m. at Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The winner will face defending champion Ateneo in the best-of-three final series.
