Gilas ‘bad boyz’ ready for duty, says Andray Blatche

Naturalized Filipino Andray Blatche said he and his former Gilas Pilipinas teammates Calvin Abueva and Terrence Romeo are “ready” for another tour of duty for the Philippine team.

The 32-year-old Blatche even dubbed the three of them as “the bad boyz” in a post on his Instagram account Tuesday afternoon less than 24 hours since Gilas bowed to Iran in heartbreaking fashion in the fifth window of the Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers.

“3 of us are missing I’m sure they ready as well let’s do wats need to be done “the bad boyz,” Blatche’s caption read.

The three were excluded from the 20-man pool by national team head coach Yeng Guiao.

Abueva is still serving his six-game suspension while Blatche, who was given a three-game ban, for his participation in the free-for-all against Australia would’ve been eligible to play in the Iran clash.

Guiao opted for Filpino-German big man Christian Standhardinger and Fil-American guard Stanley Pringle as the Philippines’ naturalized players in the fifth window.
