MANILA, Philippines–Bright Akhuetie capped off his stellar first year in the UAAP by capturing the MVP plum of Season 81.

University of the Philippines’ center, who officially received the award on Wednesday before Game 2 of the UAAP Finals, amassed 82.5 statistical points, edging Ateneo’s Angelo Kouame, who won Rookie of the Yea with 76.2143 SPs.

Kouame, despite getting second-most SPs, did not make it to the Mythical Team because of the UAAP’s ruling that only one foreign player will be in that five-man lineup.
