A sea of #UP: Celebs, politicians at Maroons vs Blue Eagles Finals game

MANILA, Philippines — Once again, celebrities trooped to the historic basketball championship game of Ateneo de Manila University (ADMU) and University of the Philippines (UP).

In the UAAP Season 81 Game 2 between ADMU and UP at the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City on Wednesday, showbiz personalities and politicians witnessed the “Battle of Katipunan” and cheered for their respective alma maters.

UP alumnus Ogie Alcasid posted on Instagram a photo and a short clip of the UP crowd with the caption: A sea of #UP.

Comedian Vice Ganda also joined in on the fun as he tweeted from Araneta Coliseum likening the energy of UP supporters to that of fans of a famous K-pop group.

Meanwhile, proud UP alumni politicians also showed up to support the state university.

To name a few, Vice President Leni Robredo as well as Senators Kiko Pangilinan, Sonny Angara, Juan Miguel Zubiri and Nancy Binay were present during the game, where ADMU was eventually crowned champion. /kga
