Tabal makes it 6 in a row
Mary Joy Tabal and Rafael Poliquit conquered the 42nd National Finals held in Laoag City on Sunday.
Tabal, who competed in the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympics, clocked 2 hours, 56 minutes and 31 seconds and set a record as the first woman to win the title six consecutive times.
Poliquit claimed his third men’s crown in 2:28:47.

Tabal bested four-time winner Cristabel Martes (2:59:29) and Cristine Hallasgo (3:06:16) while Poliquit beat Jerald Zabala (2:31:25) and Richard Salaño (2:33:17).
