MANILA, Philippines—They may be wearing different jerseys now but this volleyball bunch will always have one thing in common: they were all, at one point in their careers, a part of University of Santo Tomas.
Former Tigresses including the coach who helped the school to its last volleyball championship in UAAP Season 72 reunited for a photo after Petron’s second straight Philippine Superliga All-Filipino conquest Thursday night.
Ex-UST coach Shaq Delos Santos, current Tigresses assistant Yani Fernandez, and former UST stars Rhea Dimaculangan, Carmela Tunay, Chloe Cortez, Aiza Maizo-Pontillas, Jean Balse-Pabayo along with current headliner Cherry Rondina were celebrating their latest championship when they got together on the court.
Player-turned-courtside reporter Denise Tan also joined the champion players and coaches who once donned the stripes of UST.
The photo, posted on PSL’s Instagram account, made some volleyball fans wax sentimental thinking about UST’s glory days in volleyball.
