PBA stars put family first on Christmas

Athletes spend much of their time training and preparing for the next competition. They participate in one tournament after another and at times, travel out of town and overseas.

That’s what some PBA players go through on a yearly basis.

Stars such as Gabe Norwood, who is also a longtime national team player, had quite a hectic year having played abroad to represent the country in the Asian Games and Fiba World Cup Asian qualifers while also suiting up for Rain or Shine in the PBA .

The holiday season, however, provides a much-needed respite and  opportunity to make up for lost time with family.

Fellow PBA stars Chris Ross, Mark Barroca and Rome dela Rosa, meanwhile, spent the Yuletide season in the US.

Ross, the six-time PBA champion from San Miguel Beer, went back to San Antonio, Texas where he played high school basketball to be with his family while dela Rosa, who helped Magnolia bag the 2018 Governors’ Cup title, had Christmas with his wife and two daughters in San Diego, California where he grew up.

Barroca, who was the Finals MVP of the series, took a trip to New York City with his wife and daughter.
