The Philippine Tennis Association will kick off its 2019 calendar with the revival of the National Students Championships slated Jan. 8 to 14 at Rizal Memorial Tennis Center.

Mothballed for 45 years, the Philta has decided to stage the tennis meet once again in order to uncover talents from schools all over the country, according to Philta president Antonio Cablitas.

“We are always on the look out for homegrown talents to whom we can build our tennis development program,” said Philta tournament director Chris Cuarto.
