Ex-NBA G-League coach Jermaine Byrd joins La Salle camp
La Salle has welcomed former NBA G-League coach Jermaine Byrd to its camp, confirming earlier reports that the Green Archers are bringing in a new coach.
Green Archers guard Alun Melecio posted a photo with the American mentor during La Salle training. The Facebook post has since been deleted.

Byrd previous coaching experience includes stints with the Tulsa 66ers, Sioux Falls Skyford and LA Defenders in the NBA G-League as an assistant coach.
Byrd is taking over the coaching duties from Louie Gonzalez, who only lasted one season as head coach of the Green Archers.
La Salle went 8-6 under Gonzalez in the UAAP Season 81 where it missed the Final Four after losing to Far Eastern University in a knockout game for the last semifinals slot.
