Nes Pamilar, a key figure in Philippine volleyball, passed away on Saturday due to heart failure. He was 52.

Pamilar was a former national team and UAAP champion coach, who guided the Far Eastern University Lady Tamaraws to a title in UAAP Season 70.

Pamilar had coaching stints in several leagues including the NCAA and Premier Volleyball League.

He underwent bypass surgery two years ago but that didn’t stop him from doing what he loves and going back to coaching.

Pamilar, a proven winner on different levels, returned at the helm as mentor of the Tacloban Fighting Warays in the PVL and San Beda Red Spikers in the NCAA.

He also coached the De La Salle University Green Archers and the Letran Lady Knights.
