Adrien Broner couldn’t care any less about the rumors surrounding a potential Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. rematch.
The possibility of a second installment between Pacquiao and Mayweather was again entertained after the two rivals met at a music festival in Japan last September and more recently in an NBA game between the Los Angeles Clippers and Charlotte Hornets at Staples Center in Los Angeles four days ago.
But Broner has a much more important matter to address, which is his title fight against WBA welterweight champion Pacquiao on January 19 in Las Vegas.
“No disrespect,” Broner said, “but I don’t give a (expletive) about Mayweather and Pacquiao.”
“I’m focused on Adrien Broner and Pacquiao,” Broner said. “And, you know, I’m focused on getting this victory and I’m gonna go to the drawing board with my team – Stephen Espinoza and Al Haymon – and we gonna make bigger moves.”
The Pacquiao is going be the biggest name Broner has ever faced and a victory over the Filipino legend would definitely catapult the American challenger to new heights.
Broner (33-3-1, 24 KOs, 1 NC) is a four-division champion hasn’t been performing as one in his last three fights, which ended in a controversial split-decision win over Adrian Granados, a loss to Mikey Garcia and a majority draw against Jessie Vargas last April.
