Meralco continued to make some changes in its roster after shipping Garvo Lanete to NorthPort in exchange for the rights to the 2020 second round pick.

The PBA approved the trade on Tuesday.

The deal came just less than a week after the Bolts acquired the services of much-improved guard John Pinto from Blackwater for Jason Ballesteros and a 2020 second round pick.

Meralco is looking to improve on its 11th place finish in the Philippine Cup last season where it finished second to the last in the standings.

The Bolts are coming off a semifinals appearance in the 2018 Governors’ Cup.

Lanete played sparingly in the previous conference, logging only 7 minutes per game and averaging just 2.0 points.

Meralco opens its campaign in the 2019 Philippine Cup against Blackwater on Saturday at Ynares Center in Antipolo.
