HOLLYWOOD—Manny Pacquiao’s posh residence in the Larchmont neighborhood here was ransacked Sunday evening just when he was returning from his WBA welterweight title-retention triumph over Adrien Broner in Las Vegas the night before.
Police cordoned off the house on North Plymouth Boulevard after a private citizen reported the burglary, according to reports.
Team Pacquiao members, however, said it was the Los Angeles Police Department which discovered the break-in upon a routine drive by.
Bobby Pacquiao, brother of the eight-division world champion, said it was already the second time the house was burglarized.
Authorities have yet to release a list of the missing items but Pacquiao’s US-based publicist, Fred Sternburg, said “nothing substantial was stolen.”
The house was left unattended for one week as all members of Team Pacquiao were in Las Vegas for the Broner fight.
Questions were raised why nobody from Pacquiao’s large crew was assigned to take care of the property, which is reportedly worth $3 million, excluding its contents.
Pacquiao defeated Broner via unanimous decision on Saturday night (Sunday, PH time) at MGM Grand Arena.
