It’s just a matter of time before the Philippine Sports Commission begins work on a new sports complex the agency can call its own.
The creation of a Philippine Sports Training Center (PSTC), which was approved by the bicameral body of Congress, has been forwarded to the Office of the President for signing.
Once President Duterte signs the measure into law, the PSC can begin scouting for a perfect venue to build the training center that will replace the 85-year-old Rizal Memorial Sports Complex in Manila.
Sen. Sonny Angara is the chief sponsor of the PSTC in the Senate while Antipolo City Rep. Chiqui Roa Puno and Abono Rep. Conrado Estrella III have its backing in the House of Representatives.
“I would like to thank our lawmakers who believe in the importance of putting up a new training center to serve our national athletes,” said PSC Chair Butch Ramirez.
