Indiana Pacers star Victor Oladipo will miss the rest of the season after suffering a serious knee injury during his team’s victory over Toronto, the NBA team confirmed on Thursday.

Oladipo collapsed to the court in the second period of the Pacers’ 110-106 victory over the Raptors on Wednesday, clutching his right knee in agony.

A statement from the Pacers on Thursday said scans had revealed he suffered a ruptured quadriceps tendon in his right knee.

“He will undergo surgery at a date to be determined and will be out for the season,” the Pacers medical bulletin said.

“Further updates will be provided as warranted.”

Oladipo’s injury comes as a huge blow to the Pacers, who are 32-15 and occupy third place in the Eastern Conference standings.

The 26-year-old Oladipo is Indiana’s top-scorer this season, averaging 19.2 points per game.
