CALASIAO, Pangasinan—Gabe Norwood made the biggest plays on both ends in the stretch to key an 83-80 Rain or Shine victory over Barangay Ginebra in a Petron Saturday Special game at Calasiao Sports Complex here.
Norwood drained two critical long jumpers inside the final 2:14, had a great chase down block on an LA Tenorio layup before grabbing the biggest offensive rebound of the night that sealed the Elasto Painters’ second straight win in the young conference.
The loss pulled the Gin Kings below .500 at 1-2, and this came on the heels of a bad outing last week against four-time defending champion San Miguel Beer.
Mark Borboran and Norbert Torres came off the bench to lead the Painters with 12 points each, with Japeth Aguilar leading the Kings with 19.
