The Philippine women’s volleyball team is not closing its doors on sisters Dindin Santiago-Manabat and Jaja Santiago.
Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas, Inc. officials said it is determined to form the strongest possible team for the Southeast Asian Games to be held in the country in November.
Though the result of the recent expansion tryouts will be released next week, LVPI president Peter Cayco said they would still welcome everyone willing to represent the country.
The 6-foot-5 Santiago and her sister, who is 6-3, are currently playing in the Japan V-League.
But national coach Shaq delos Santos said they can still accommodate the sisters, who also skipped the Asian Club Championships in Thailand last year due to their Japan stint.
Santiago was recently named Best Player of the Game when her team, Ageo Medics, defeated NEC Red Rockets on the day she turned 23.
The Philippines will take part in the Asian Volleyball Confederation championships in Korea and China before seeing action in the SEA Games.
