ICTSI Splendido Ladies Classic under way

Local aces will be hard-pressed to sustain the charge set up by Dottie Ardina’s convincing win at Beverly Place last week as they slug it out with Thai and Korean bets in the ICTSI Splendido Ladies Classic teeing off Tuesday in Laurel, Batangas. Princess Superal will banner the hosts as Ardina and last week’s runner-up Pauline del Rosario campaign in the Women’s World Championship Qualifying in Singapore. Cyna Rodriguez and Chihiro Ikeda are the other Filipino bets in the fourth leg of the 2018-19 LPGT season.

Patrombon, Patrimonio rule PPS Actifit

Top seed Jeson Patrombon overwhelmed unseeded Joseph Victorino, 6-3, 6-1, while unranked Christine Patrimonio trounced younger sister Clarice via the same scoreline to clinch the singles crowns in the PPS-PEPP Actifit Open Tennis Championship in Valenzuela on Sunday. Patrombon, the Davis Cupper veteran from Iligan, dropped just 11 games against five rivals. “This is a good win to start the year and I thank Palawan Pawnshop for putting up these Open tournaments,” said Patrombon.
