Jomary Torres hopes to regain her winning ways when she returns to the cage against Lin Heqin of China in ONE: Reign of Valor on March 8 at Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Torres began her campaign in ONE Championship’s women’s atomweight division with three straight wins, but she hasn’t had much success recently after ending 2018 with back-to-back decision losses to Priscilla Hertati Lumban Gaol last September and Mei Yamaguchi a month ago.

Despite her struggles, Torres is determined to redeem herself starting with her bout against Lin.

“It has not been easy, especially after losing my last two bouts, but I am not giving up. I want to make sure that I get back and regain my momentum,” said Torres.

The 23-year-old Torres, however, is expected to have her hands full against Lin, who is making her ONE debut but doesn’t lack experience with an impressive 16-2-1 record.

Lin has made a name for herself in China as a knockout artist. She has won her last five fights, four of which via stoppage.

Torres is aware of the kind of fighter Lin is and the challenge that awaits motivates her more rather than be intimidated by it.

“I am motivated to show everyone the Jomary Torres of old. I know Lin Heqin is a great athlete, and I can’t wait to share the cage with her and prove that I belong there.”
