PBA takes two-week break to give way to Gilas Fiba qualifying games

MANILA, Philippines – Reaffirming its full support to the men’s national basketball team, the PBA will take a two-week break to give way to Gilas Pilipinas’ preparations and two remaining games in the Fiba World Cup Asian qualifiers.

The PBA’s last playdate will be on February 13 at Mall of Asia Arena as Gilas ramps up its practices.

The 2019 Philippine Cup will resume on February 27 at Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Philippine team can’t afford to lose any of its final matches after going 1-3 in its last four games.

Gilas ends the qualifiers with back-to-back away games against Qatar on February 21 and Kazakhstan three days later.

The Nationals, who are currently training for only thrice a week, will begin holding practices daily on February 14.

Naturalized big man Andray Blatche rejoined his Gilas teammates Monday night.
