The first staging of the $100,000-The Country Club Ladies Invitational, which will be bannered by 2017 US Open champion Sung Hyun-park of South Korea, happens March 6 and is expected to provide one of the toughest tests in the Philippine Golf Tour and Taiwan LPGA circuits this season.

The wind-swept layout in Santa Rosa in Laguna has been one of the most difficult courses to conquer in the country since it was redone a couple of years back to fit international standards.

Park is currently ranked second in the world and will be playing in the 54-hole tournament as part of her commitment to new sponsor Solaire Resorts and Casinos before she enters the third year of her lucrative US LPGA campaign.

There will be a banner field of 120 players made up mostly of foreigners, with Princess Superal carrying the fight for the lean local contingent.

This will be the first of two big events that TCC will host before the first half of the year.
