The Philippine Sports Commission is making a bold effort to educate national athletes and coaches about doping.
PSC Chair Butch Ramirez led a doping control officer training course on Tuesday under the auspices of the Philippine National Anti-Doping Organization (Phi-nado) and its project director, Dr. Alejandro Pineda, and Gobinathan Nair, director general of the Southeast Asian Regional Anti-Doping Organization (Searado).
All member countries of the Southeast Asian Games Federation sent participants with 20 doctors, nurses, nutritionists, coaches and sports administrators in attendance.
Pineda will also discuss the country’s antidoping plans for the 30th SEA Games hosting this November.
Global and regional perspectives in doping control and sharing of experiences among SEA countries shall also be discussed during the training that will run until Feb. 20 at Philippine International Convention Center in Pasay.
