Marcelo overcame dismal form early in the races to put away an unprecedented fourth Karter of the Year plum.
Calderon, meanwhile, put up an impressive show to score crucial wins and clinch the Junior Karter of the Year award, beating Franco Reyes, Estefano Rivera and Vrei-AR Suba.
Both the Karting Super Series and the KF2-KF3 Cup were used to determine the recipients of the two top awards—Karter of the Year and Junior Karter of the Year.
Marcelo had a cumulative total of 200 points, besting VJ Suba (170), Reyes (140) and Milo Rivera (120).
Calderon wound up tied with Suba at 180 points but the Cebuano prevailed in the tiebreak, having compiled six wins against his rival’s four in both karting series.
Placing third were VJ Suba in the ROK Overall class and Reyes in the ROK Junior class.
VJ Suba also ruled the ROK Seniors.
CJ Tsui likewise showed marked improvement in topping the ROK Novice class but it wasn’t enough to stop Matthew Chan from claiming the overall ROK Novice crown and the season’s Clubman Karter of the Year award.
Tai Zulberti also ruled the SQ Cadet Invitational Expert crown.
