Tyler Tio shoots Ateneo past Family Mart-Enderun for 2nd straight win

MANILA, Philippines — Tyler Tio waxed hot in the fourth quarter to shoot Cignal-Ateneo past Family Mart-Enderun, 82-68, in the 2019 PBA D-League at Paco Arena in Manila.
Tio fired 14 of his 20 points in the fourth quarter where the Blue Eagles pulled away.
“It’s a tough game, good game,” said Ateneo coach Tab Baldwin. “Enderun got the jump in the beginning. But our defense kicked in after first quarter. Offensively, we don’t ask a lot right now, but Tyler did a good job, Ange pulled some boards, and Will Navarro did a good job for our guys. I’m happy that we got the win.”
The sweet-shooting Tio went 6-of-9 from the 3-point line and also dished out five assists.
Tio teamed up with Angelo Kouame to give Ateneo a lethal inside and out game.
Kouame imposed his presence on both ends to finish with 20 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.
Ateneo also drew a near double-double effort from William Navarro, who posted nine points and 15 boards.
